All Saints' Episcopal Church

INFANTS AND TODDLERS

Welcome to All Saints'! All Saints' Sunday morning nursery and toddler programs are designed to provide our youngest church members with a safe, loving environment and a positive introduction to church. All Saints' also takes great care to ensure that parents can worship comfortably, knowing their children are in caring, experienced hands.

The infant nursery and toddler room are staffed by a team of professional sitters, many of whom have worked at the parish for several years. In addition, dedicated volunteers offer a Biblically-based craft project, songs, and stories. Toddlers also enjoy a light snack and a healthy dose of free play and fun!

To ensure peace of mind to parents, the nursery and toddler room provide vibrating pagers. With the touch of a button, the staff can quickly and silently notify parents who are needed for any reason during church services. Whether you are a first time visitor or a lifelong member, we ask all parents of children 18 months and younger to utilize the pager in order to ensure the best church experience for our children. Parents of children over 18 months are also welcome to carry a pager. Please do not hesitate to notify a staff member or volunteer if your child has a special need of any kind.

Nursery and Toddler Room hours are Sundays 8:30am - 12:30pm. The infant nursery (recommended for 18 months and younger) is located at the rear of the courtyard. Toddlers spend Sunday mornings in Lower Sweetland Hall, adjacent to the playground, across from the entrance to the Memorial Chapel.

Beyond Sunday Morning . . .

The Sunday morning nursery and toddler programs are just the beginning . . .

Each year, All Saints' is blessed with the births of many new babies. Because the first few weeks of parenthood are usually consumed by all the family adjustments a newborn baby requires, the Martha Ministry recruits volunteers from the parish to deliver a home-cooked meal to families after they return home from the hospital. In addition, quarterly Baby Brunches (where expectant parents share a meal with families of children twelve months and younger) enable young families get to know one another.

All Saints' Best of L.A. is full of all the "inside information" new parents (or families new to Los Angeles) need to know - everything from the best neighborhood parks to the most child-friendly restaurants to best resources for babysitters. And there is more . . .

  • Family Forums are offered several times a year, when parents gather to dialogue with nationally-known experts about a variety of issues affecting today's families.
  • Family Nights, filled with games and entertainment, provide All Saints' families with additional opportunities to get to know one another.
  • One morning each week, a toddler playgroup meets at the church to encourage early friendships and pre-preschool socialization skills among children ages 2-4.
  • Small groups, comprised of parents of young children, meet throughout the Los Angeles area for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.

Watch for more details about these activities in the Sunday bulletin and in The Shepherd, our quarterly family ministry newsletter.

Many parents become involved in the myriad of ministry opportunities at All Saints'.

Below is a listing of some of the ways parents help with the infant and toddler ministries:

  • Assisting with crafts, music and/or storytelling for toddlers on Sunday mornings
  • Organizing a Family Night, with the assistance of a few other parents
  • Preparing and delivering a meal to new parents
  • Organizing and/or hosting a new small group
