All Saints' Choir

All Saints' Choir is the semi-professional choir of All Saints', Beverly Hills. In addition to providing musical leadership on Sunday mornings (see Choir Duty Rota for details), All Saints' Choir sings most of the special choral services in the First Fridays series; several major sacred Concerts with orchestra sponsored by the All Saints' Music Guild each year; as well as full Choral Eucharists on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter Day, Ascension, and Pentecost. The Choir specializes in music of the Anglican cathedral and American Episcopal choral traditions and is equally at home singing the great masters of the European Continent.

The All Saints' Choir consists of twelve staff singers and twenty-five auditioned volunteers, who rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., September through May. New volunteer members are welcomed on a rolling basis; staff singers are auditioned as vacancies occur. Interested singers are encouraged to contact the Director of Music to schedule an audition and interview. A high level of dedication is required. In addition to beautiful vocal quality, potential members of the Choir must demonstrate aptitude for choral singing in the Anglican choral style, a fluent understanding of music reading, and good sight-singing skills.

During the twenty-seven year tenure of former Director of Music, Thomas Foster, the All Saints' Choir broad national acclaim through its compact disc recordings for Gothic Records, two tours of the East Coast of the United States, national broadcasts on Minnesota Public Radio's Pipedreams®, and appearances at conventions of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and the Association of Anglican Musicians (AAM). Since Foster's retirement in 2003, the All Saints' Choir has continued to flourish under the direction of Dale Adelmann, supported skillfully by Associate Director of Music, Craig Phillips, who has served on the All Saints' staff since 1988. In July 2004, the All Saints' Choir drew enthusiastic reviews as one the featured choirs during the National Convention of the American Guild of Organists in Los Angeles.

The mission of the Choirs at All Saints' Church is
to glorify God through transcendent worship,
to help people perceive the love of God in the beauty of Holiness, and
to support the Christian transformation of Choir members through the choral experience.
