"Carol
Anderson's ministry and life have brought many people to
a living faith." The Reverend Carol Anderson, D.D., became rector of All Saints' in 1989, and under her leadership there has been an expansion of small group ministry, pastoral care, homeless ministry, ministry to children, youth, families, young adults, women, gay people, and seniors. She has also established at All Saints' the internationally used Alpha Course for the teaching of basic Christianity. Carol is the author of the basic Christianity primer, Knowing Jesus in your Life, a book which presents to the reader the way we can have a relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ.
"I believe that God is very much at work here building an extraordinary group of disciples who will share Christ's love to the world." When and where does this building take place? Everywhere you look at the parish: in our senior community and the activities of the SAGES, in the expansion of our service ministries, in the explosion of activity in the 20s/30s group, in the proliferation of small groups at All Saints', in the enrollment of our Alpha Courses, in our gay and lesbian outreach. The best way to see the formation of these disciples is to come on Sunday and notice how long it takes the patio to clear off after worship. The level of member involvement is extraordinary at All Saints'; this parish is alive, a large community that remains interactive for each and every member. We are a community where people discover not only what we have to offer, but also what they themselves have to offer. |
